Exploring Japan

What an amazing day yesterday. We all journeyed out to Kamakura, a nearby town. Kamakura is famous for their temples and the Great Buddha.  It is also close to the ocean and has a great looking beach (although it was too cold for a swim – but not too cold for ice cream).  Everyone had a lot of fun and  really enjoyed the day.

Back

It has been a bit since we posted but things are going well. The holidays are in full swing here and that includes   visits from Santa Claus (Mikaela checking to see if he drank the milk and ate the cookies in picture below) and some of Jeannie’s family. They got in yesterday and we are all thrilled to see them. Quick tour of Yokohama today to get acclimated. That of course included a stop at the Cup Noodle Musesum.

Paris

In Paris for work and taking in the COP activities. Great night last night at International NYT event with the boss followed by the PSG match with some of the journalists in town.   Tonight we celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Nissan Leaf. This car has done so much to advance the EV around he world.    So happy to spend time with the team, see old friends and make new ones.

On the road

What an great opportunity last week to visit our Sunderland plant. The official start of production for the new Infiniti Q30 took place at the plant Thursday and it was great to see. I also got the opportunity to tour part of the plant.  Amazing to see the vehicles being assembled, what goes into it and to meet some of the people who make these vehicles. I look forward to visiting again soon. Home for a quick weekend now back on the road.

Beautiful Saturday in Japan

What an amazing day here. The weather is spectacular and we are out exploring. One of the highlights for everyone was the visit to the local Yokohama amusement park. The view from the top of the Ferris wheel is amazing – you could see Fuji in the distance.  It was all capped off with a beautiful sunset.

LA

Nothing like a quick trip to the States. Capped it off with a visit to LA and the LA Motor Show.   Went to the Infiti reveal last night, attended the Nissan press conference today where we unveiled the new Sentra and capped it off with seeing some great street art – on our cars. Time to head home.

Wet weekend and a happy birthday girl

Sunday was a wet one but fun. We went to the food festival at the school down the street.  It was great, lots of food from around the world all homemade by the parents from their respective countries. Jeannie did a bit of world traveling with France and Malaysia. Simon and I stayed closer to our roots with burgers and chili.  Mikaela slept through it all. Jeannie and I had a couple of jello shots to take off the chill.  Today was Mikaela’s birthday. She was so happy and excited, it was great to see.  She has grown so much, so fast and she is so much like her mother – smart, beautiful, sweet and funny. When Jeannie said she was like me, it was because of her sweet tooth.

Great pic below. Mikaela in a Packers dress and Simon in a Dead shirt!   My kids!

Halloween part 2

So enough with the dogs.  We went out for our first trick or treat in Japan – lots of fun. It was a very different experience for all of us. No house to house visits trying to find the best candy (for Jeannie and the kids of course).  We went down to the neighborhood trick or treat at the bottom of the hill – so did thousands of others. There were lines for everything – the one to get a balloon was five blocks long. We got a few things in the lines but at one point Paige (who we were lucky to have visit for a second time in about two weeks) and I got a few treats for the kids at a local store.  We all thought that would be better.  Over all, lots of fun and we had a great time.

A few pics of the crowds, Jeannie in her Supergirl socks, Mikaela an Olivia, Paige and Mikaela and our visit to Chinatown earlier today.
Come visit!!!
